Israeli airline Arkia announced Sunday the launch of a new route to Manchester, England, the heart of English soccer. The service, set to begin in October, will offer two weekly flights on Fridays and Mondays.
Manchester is home to two of the English Premier League's top teams, Manchester City and Manchester United. Arkia plans to align its flight schedule with the match times of these teams, as well as Liverpool FC, located less than an hour's drive away. Round-trip tickets will start at $550.
"We are excited to launch the new line to Manchester and open the door to the fascinating world of English soccer for Israeli fans," the airline said in a statement.
"Manchester is a vibrant city with a wide range of attractions, from museums to nightlife and a rich cultural scene. The highlight is undoubtedly soccer. The city's two major stadiums, Etihad and Old Trafford, host the home games of England's biggest teams, offering an exceptional experience for fans from around the world."
