The expansion of flights to the United States is possible thanks to the improvement of the company's flight schedule and the suspension of the flights to Johannesburg starting at the end of March, alongside the continued increase of the company's aircraft fleet," the airline said.
"Since the beginning of the war, El Al has been following the changes in customer preferences and making adjustments to the flight schedule accordingly. The change was fueled by the increase of activity in the business sector, the Jewish and Israeli communities, as well as the increasing tourism to various American destinations," the statement from the national carrier said.
"Los Angeles is the largest city in the West Coast and is an international center for business, commerce, entertainment, culture, communication, fashion and technology. It is El Al's farthest destination today and is considered a bridge to West Coast destinations, including Las Vegas, San Francisco, Seattle, San Diego, Dallas, Phoenix and more."
After adding the flight to Boston, El Al will operate four weekly flights to the city on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, throughout the summer schedule. "Boston is considered an economic and cultural center, with renowned museums and universities, and an extensive Israeli and Jewish community," El Al said. The Boston airport allows access to a wide variety of destinations in the U.S. Thanks to El Al's cooperation with Delta, JetBlue and other partner companies, customers will be able to continue to a variety of destinations through Boston comfortably and quickly."
"After the approval of the American visa exemption for Israelis, and in view of Israelis' high sense of security in the U.S., there has been an increase in recent months among Israelis seeking to fly to the various destinations on the continent," El Al said.
So far, the company has added a daily flight to New York, so that this summer it will operate up to six daily flights. These join five weekly flights to Miami, two weekly flights to Fort Lauderdale, Florida that will begin operating on April 15, a destination characterized by connecting flights to a variety of destinations in Central and South America and many options for cruises. In total, El Al plans to operate over 50 direct weekly flights to various US destinations this summer.
"Since the outbreak of the war, El Al has bolstered the flight schedule to the U.S. in order to continue to increase accessibility to a destination that is significant for the State of Israel. We are continuing our efforts of expanding the U.S. flights also for the summer season," Shlomi Zafrani, Vice President of Commerce at El Al, said .
