Nir Mazor, Deputy CEO of Kishrey-Teufa, said: "We are well aware that many Israelis already vacation on the island and some even have vacation homes there. Now we can provide them with a direct flight of less than two hours without the need for a transfer to Athens."
Israeli tourism companies noted that Lesbos is also known for its friendliness towards the LGBTQ community and hosts several festivals for the community every year.
Lesbos boasts a wide coastline of 320 kilometers, offering diverse spots from sandy beaches and pebble coves to volcanic rock formations. Vatera Beach, stretching nearly nine kilometers, stands out as the island's longest beach with deep blue waters and fine sand. Other highlights include Skala Eressou, a three-kilometer sandy beach with calm waters and stunning sunsets, while Tsonia Beach near the village of Klio offers pristine waters and traditional Greek tavernas.
