Urban retreat for sexual fantasies
Not many people know that in Petah Tikva's industrial park, there is a hotel where all 20 rooms are specially designed to fulfill different sexual fantasies. This is the Lotus Spa Hotel.

"It is an urban hotel with 20 rooms available for short-term rental, from a minimum of three hours to overnight," said owner Dmitri Levin. "Each room is designed differently and has its own twist. Some of the rooms are more daring and include bizarre beds and BDSM furniture for power-play games, while others are more naive, like a room styled to resemble a wooden cabin in Galilee. Couples come here looking to spend a few hours, and everyone finds the answer to their fantasy."
Levin explained that he entered the world of design for sexual fantasies, kinky rooms and BDSM dungeons for practical reasons. "Fifteen years ago, I opened my first hotel on Hayarkon Street in Tel Aviv. The concept was the same - a hotel with rooms for hourly rentals - but all the rooms looked the same, and I was looking for a way to differentiate myself from the competition," he says. "I realized that I wanted to design a hotel where each room has a different story, and customers can fulfill their fantasies."
How much does it cost to design a room inspired by a sexual fantasy?
"The construction cost of the fantasy rooms is high," says Levin, "It cost us about NIS 200,000 per room, and people are willing to pay for the pleasure."
Who comes to the hotel?
"Our customers come from all age groups, all sectors, and all religions. During the afternoon, mainly older couples come, and in the evening, young folks who still live with their parents come. We have ultra-Orthodox, Arabs, Russians and many married couples who put their kids to sleep at nine o'clock in the evening and come here to steal a few hours of pleasure," he explains.
How much does it cost to rent a designed room in the hotel?
"The prices are suitable for every budget, ranging from NIS 250 to 400 for three hours. It is also possible to rent a room for the night. From experience, couples who return always prefer to try a new room, and that's how they explore the entire complex. The basis is returning customers," he added.
'The most important thing is that it's practical'
Behind the choice of concept, materials and design stands Nati Ziv, an experienced architect and designer. At Levin's request, he took on the complex task of designing 20 different rooms tailored to the Israeli audience.
"We conducted initial research online, traveled around the world, and made a list of all the popular fantasies, including a jungle room with real grass and sand. Gradually, we shifted toward practicality since each room is used multiple times a day. It was important for us to use very durable materials that are easily and quickly cleaned and incorporate remote control systems for door access and air conditioning to meet the standards of discretion and privacy," says Ziv.

Red room, black room
Ziv suggested that we skip the standard rooms and took us straight to a room with red walls. In the center of the room, there is a large bed shaped like a red Lamborghini, a glittery pole for dancing on a base that resembles a racing car wheel, a luxurious leather swing, and a specially designed torture device for a motorized atmosphere. Without a doubt, this is an exceptional fantasy room, and Ziv claims that every detail in this room and the other rooms has been carefully considered.
"All the BDSM equipment and the bed were custom-made. The design is very clean, with an emphasis on safety. When I ordered this bed from the factory in China, we conducted special tests to ensure that it is strong enough, resistant to pressure, and won't break during customer use," he explains. The same goes for all the other selected materials, from tiles to sofas.
An additional Red Room features a giant round bed shaped like a sea shell, and it also has a luxurious leather swing hanging in it. Ziv was amused by our reactions and our attempts to understand the use of the different instruments in every room. He then invited us to go up to the hotel's third floor where the Black Rooms are located.
The Black Fantasy Room is indeed impressive, with a giant round bed in the center and dim neon lighting that reminds one of an American sports bar. Various BDSM equipment is scattered around the giant bed next to the shiny leather sofas, mirrors everywhere, including on the ceiling, and even a jacuzzi. The abundance of facilities and attractions in the room creates a sense of FOMO, but surprisingly, Levin argues that Israeli customers make sure to take advantage of all of them and don't miss out on anything.
"The Black Rooms are characterized by lots of black leather, shiny iron chains, black wall cladding, and cool steel toys. Due to customer demand, we also added a small table and two standard chairs for enjoying coffee at the end of the session. Israelis love a lot of everything, and size does matter to them. The Israeli fantasy is to make use of all the facilities within three hours," said Levin.
The basement
At the end of the guided tour, we arrive at the hotel's basement, which has undergone a luxurious and well-designed BDSM makeover. Despite the absence of windows, it has turned into a glorified dungeon suitable not only for couples but also for group use.
"It's a large space of 45 square meters that is suitable for parties. In fact, the space used to be an empty storage room, and I don't like empty things. Since it's a kind of windowless basement with no natural light, I decided to take it to the extreme. There's a truly unique design here, even the table can be transformed into a bed with bondage options. Everyone finds their favorite corner here," explains Levin.
