A 30-year-old Israeli tourist was fined 5,000 baht (about $140) after being caught on video riding a motorcycle along Kamala Beach in Phuket, Thai police reported Wednesday.
The footage, widely shared on social media, prompted local authorities to launch an investigation, leading them to identify and locate the tourist.

At the police station, the tourist explained that there were no signs prohibiting beach riding and falsely claimed that motorcycle riding on beaches is allowed in Israel.
However, police were not persuaded by his explanation and issued a fine for public disturbance.
