3.7 million passengers to pass through Ben Gurion Airport during summer

Airports Authority says peak summer travel days will be Sundays and Thursdays, with  over 60,000 passengers on more than 400 flights per day

The Israel Airports Authority said on Monday that some 3.7 million passengers were expected to pass through the airport in July and August.
Popular destinations include Greece, Cyprus, Italy, the U.S., and the UAE. Peak travel days are anticipated to be August 22, with about 72,800 passengers, and August 15 and 29, with around 72,600 passengers each day.

The Airports Authority further reported that around 1.8 million passengers were expected in July and 1.9 million in August. Peak summer travel days will be Sundays and Thursdays, with between 60,000 and 70,000 passengers on more than 400 flights per day.
During the summer, approximately 50 international airlines, in addition to Israeli airlines, will operate out of Ben Gurion Airport, flying to around 100 destinations.
Greece will top the list of vacation destinations this year, with around 80 daily flights. Cyprus will rank second, with about 50 daily flights. Overall, there will be approximately 4,250 flights between Ben Gurion and Greece and about 2,100 flights between Ben Gurion and Cyprus throughout the summer. The other top destinations are Italy, the U.S., and the UAE.

The Transportation Ministry also said that to accommodate the increase in international passenger traffic, Ben Gurion Airport will bolster staff and management activities. Both terminals (Terminal 1 and Terminal 3) will have a full managerial presence, especially during peak times. A special family unit will assist families with children during their summer vacation departures.
