Ryanair stalls return to Israel till end of October

Irish low-cost airline delays return to Ben Gurion Airport expected in early October as cancelations continue; meanwhile more airlines resume flights to Tel Aviv

Irish low-cost airline Ryanair, announced on Thursday that it will not resume flights to Israel until the end of October at the earliest after it canceled flights to and from Ben-Gurion airport in August out of security concerns.
The airline was initially set to resume flights to Israel in early October but has now said flights will not resume before October 26.

In contrast, the Lufthansa Group, which includes Lufthansa Airlines, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings, said earlier this week that it will resume its flights. LOT Polish Airlines, Poland’s national carrier and Italy’s ITA Airways also resumed flights to Israel this week.
British Airways, Air France, Aegean Airlines, Iberia Express, Wizz Air, Ethiopian Airlines, Cordón and Tarom, have returned their service to Israel.
Dutch airline Transavia has canceled flights to and from Tel Aviv until March 31, 2025. Air India, India’s national airline, announced it won’t resume flights to Israel until October 24. Delta Airlines said its cancellations of flights from New York to Israel will continue until October 31. United Airlines announced it won’t resume flights to Israel until further notice. American Airlines said it won’t return to Israel until the end of March 2025.

Spanish low-cost airline Vueling announced it won’t resume flights until October 26. Croatia Airlines won’t return to Israel until further notice. EasyJet declared it won’t renew flights to Israel until April 2025. The British low-cost airline, which halted flights to Israel after October 7, announced that it won’t resume flights to Tel Aviv until April 2025.
Customers who booked tickets for this route between October 27, 2024, and March 29, 2025, will be offered alternatives including a full refund for their purchased tickets. Latvian airline Air Baltic won’t return until at least September 10.
Thursday approximately 64,500 passengers were expected to pass through Ben Gurion Airport on 380 international flights, both incoming and outgoing. A total of 32,200 passengers will depart on international flights, while 32,300 passengers are expected to arrive in Israel.
