Israel's national carrier El Al announced on Friday that it would be suspending its flights to and from South Africa as of late March, in the wake of accusations made to the International Criminal Court in the Hague against Israel and amid a drip in demand.

El Al currently operates two weekly flight to South Africa and said that in the current security situation, there has been a drop in demand from Israelis, for tickets to Johannesburg as well as to other destinations.
The company said the Tel Aviv-Johannesburg rout will be suspended in order to allow adjustments to be made to customer demands.
South Africa has accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, at the International Criminal Court in the Hague, and accusation Israel flatly denies.
Pretoria also asked for the court to rule on measures Israel must take including an end to the fighting against Hamas in the Strip. A ruling is expected on Friday.
